Math that is still there two weeks later.
Small group math for grades 2 to 11 in Glenview. We close the gaps, teach the method, then check that the learning actually held.
An in person assessment with Bayar. You leave knowing where your child stands, what is missing underneath, and what we would work on first.
About MGL Math Center
Glenview’s small-group lab where students jump 1–2 letter grades in 12 weeks.
Since 2020, more than 300 Glenview students have lifted their math grades by an average of 1.8 letters with MMC’s six-student groups.
Our tutors pinpoint gaps, accelerate strengths, and track every skill weekly so parents always know the score. The result: higher test scores, stronger problem-solving muscles, and kids who finally say, “Math is my thing.”
EXPLORE OUR PROGRAMS
Most families come to us for the same reason. Their child is doing fine, and they want more than fine.
Where most families start
“My child is doing fine, but I want them in the accelerated class.”
Accelerated and Honors Track
Doing fine in the regular class is not the same as ready for the placement test. Those tests cover material the class has not reached yet, and they test everything from the last two years, not just the current unit. So we teach ahead of schedule and keep the older material alive, which is the part most acceleration prep skips. Already in the honors class and finding it steep? Same track.
“My child is falling behind and I do not know where it started.”
Catch Up and Close the Gaps
We find the gap underneath the gap. A student failing at fractions is often failing at division from two years earlier. We work backward until the floor is solid, then move forward.
“My child is bored and wants a real challenge.”
Competition Math
MOEMS, Math Kangaroo, and AMC 8. Problems that do not look like anything in the textbook, for students who have run out of difficulty at school.
Tuition and schedules are on the pricing page. Not sure which fits? Book the checkup and we will tell you.

What actually happens in sixty minutes.
The opening is the same every week. The rest depends on what your child walks in with. Small group does not mean the group works on the same thing, and every student is on their own plan.
Two minutes to switch on.
Every session opens with a puzzle or a short focus exercise. Students start it the moment they sit down, without waiting to be told. It is a small thing that ends the transition from school, phone, and car ride, and it means nobody spends the first ten minutes warming up.
Recall from last time.
Questions from previous weeks, closed notebooks. Not a warm-up worksheet, a memory check. If something did not stick, we find out in the first ten minutes instead of in December.
Work the mistakes, not just the homework.
We go through what they got wrong and why. A student who finishes every assignment and a student who understands every assignment are two different situations, so we track completion and accuracy separately. Fixing the error is the lesson.
Move forward.
When recall and corrections are clean, we teach the next thing in their plan and they work on it independently while the tutor circulates. Six students is the ceiling because that is how many one person can actually watch.
