Who is actually teaching your child
A math center in Glenview run by one person who still teaches most of the classes.
Meet the Founder
My name is Usukhbayar Boldbayar. Everyone calls me Bayar, and my students call me Mr. Bryan.
I competed in math at the national level and trained for the International Math Olympiad, and I have been teaching for over ten years. During the pandemic I taught students online, and the pattern I kept seeing is the one that led to this center: a student would follow my method perfectly, say they understood, and have none of it a month later. They had copied the steps without ever owning them.
That is the problem MMC is built around. Hundreds of students later, plenty have moved into honors classes and pulled their grades up, and that matters. But the thing I care about is whether a student can still do it in March without me sitting next to them.
What goes on in the room.
No phones. There is a whiteboard in the main room that says if I see your phone, it goes in the locker. Students test it once. After that the room is quiet in a way most of them are not used to, and they notice the difference themselves.
Small enough to actually watch. Six students per tutor is the ceiling. Every student works on their own plan, so a group is six different things happening at once, which is only possible because of the cap.
Every session gets logged. Skills covered, what was recalled from earlier weeks, homework completion and accuracy, focus. Once a month that becomes a report in your inbox automatically.
Grades 2 through 11. Multiplication tables through Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, ACT and SAT prep, and competition math through MOEMS, Math Kangaroo, and AMC.
