MOEMS 2023 Division M – First Olympiad Results
Dear Parents,
I’m excited to tell you that we’ve just had our first MOEMS Math Olympiad on December 2nd. This year, we’re only in Division M. This is to help our students get ready for more challenges in the coming years.
In this first Olympiad, 8 of our students participated. It’s a great start and we’re proud of them.

Big congrats to all our students for joining in their first MOEMS Math Olympiad! They did a great job and we’re super proud of them.
Remember, this is just our first year, so there’s lots more chances ahead. Plus, there are four more Olympiads to go, so our students can still do even better. We’re excited to see how they grow!
I’d like to take a moment to explain how the awards work in this competition, once all five Olympiads have been completed :
- Every student who participates in MOEMS® gets a Certificate of Participation.
- If a student scores in the top 50% of their division, they get a special Olympiad Iron-On Patch.
- Students who score really high, in the top 2% or between 3-10% of their division, receive a “Gold” or “Silver” Pin, respectively.
- The student with the highest score on each team wins a trophy. If there’s a tie, extra trophies can be bought.
- Any student who gets a perfect score (25) receives a special Medallion (the George Lenchner Award).
- Also, there are “Honorable Mention” trophies that can be bought for students who deserve extra recognition.
The second Olympiad is scheduled for December 23rd, at the same location, starting at 12pm. We’re already gearing up with the right materials to make sure our students are well-prepared.
