This page is the agreement between MGL Math Center and the parent or legal guardian who enrolls a student. By enrolling a student and providing a payment method, you confirm that you have read this agreement and accept it.
A note on language. A Mongolian translation of this agreement is provided to every family as a printed handout and is available on request. Where the two versions differ, the English version on this page governs.

Section 1
Parties and acceptance
This agreement is between MGL Math Center, an Illinois business located at 4350 Di Paolo Center St, Unit H, Glenview, IL 60025 (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “the Center”), and the parent or legal guardian enrolling a student (referred to as “you”).
You accept this agreement when you do any of the following:
- Complete enrollment and provide a payment method
- Sign a printed copy of the enrollment agreement at the Center
- Continue to send your child to classes after the effective date shown above
You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you are the parent or legal guardian of the student being enrolled, and that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide.
Section 2
Definitions
- Enrollment
- A reserved recurring seat in a specific class, at a specific day and time, continuing month to month until cancelled.
- Billing date
- The calendar day each month on which tuition is charged. This is normally the date classes begin.
- Program year
- The instructional year running from Last week of August to Second week of August.
- Scheduled closure
- A date the Center is closed according to the published program calendar. Scheduled closures are already accounted for in monthly tuition.
- Catch-Up Packet
- The worksheets covered by the student’s class on a day the student was absent, together with a written explanation of that lesson.
- Makeup class
- Attendance at a different class session, in place of a missed one, when an open seat is available at the student’s level.
Section 3
What enrollment includes
Your child holds a reserved seat in a class of no more than six students, at the same day and time every week. Enrollment includes:
- Weekly class instruction in a group of six students or fewer
- An initial skills assessment and an individual learning plan built from it
- Practice materials and homework matched to the student’s assessed level
- Daily tracking of the specific skills the student is working on
- A written progress report each month, sent by email
- A goals meeting at the start of the program year and a check-in in January
- Monthly parent workshops on study habits and supporting learning at home
Important
You are enrolling in a program, not purchasing a set number of instructional hours. Tuition reserves a recurring seat and the instructional time that goes with it. It is not a prepaid balance of sessions, and unused sessions have no cash value.
Section 4
Class placement, size, and assignment
Every student is placed following a skills assessment. Placement is based on demonstrated skill level rather than school grade, and a student may be placed above or below the level their grade would suggest.
Classes are capped at six students. We assign each student to a specific class, day, and time based on assessed level, available seats, and schedule fit.
Level changes
We may move a student to a different class or level when our assessment records show it is appropriate. We will tell you before any move takes effect and explain the reason. Level changes do not change your tuition rate.
If a class cannot run
If a class drops below a workable size or cannot run for staffing reasons, we will offer the student a seat in another class at the same level.
Section 5
Tuition
| One class per week, per student | $140 per month |
| Two classes per week, per student | $280 per month |
All amounts are in United States dollars. There is no registration fee, no materials fee, no assessment fee, and no annual contract.
How the monthly amount is calculated
Tuition is the same amount every month. It is not calculated from the number of classes that happen to fall in a given month, because some months contain four class days and some contain five.
Tuition is the annual cost of the program divided into equal monthly payments, in the same way tuition works at a preschool or a music school. Your monthly amount does not increase in a five-class month and does not decrease in a month containing a scheduled closure.
Your Rate
The amounts above are our standard rates. Some families are on a different rate agreed when they enrolled. Your own rate is the amount shown on your enrollment agreement and on every receipt, and that is the amount that applies to you.
Tuition does not vary based on
- The number of class days in a calendar month
- Attendance or absence
- Scheduled closures shown on the program calendar
- Whether a makeup class or Catch-Up Packet was used
Section 6
Automatic monthly billing and renewal
Automatic renewal notice
Your enrollment renews automatically every month and your card is charged automatically, with no further action by you, until you cancel. There is no fixed term and no cancellation penalty. You may cancel at any time using the cancellation link in any receipt email, or by emailing info@mgltutor.com.
By providing a payment method, you authorize MGL Math Center to charge that method the recurring monthly tuition described in Section 5, on your billing date, each month, until you cancel.
Your billing date
Your billing date is normally the first day of class, and it stays the same from that point forward. If that date falls on the 29th, 30th, or 31st, your billing date is set to the 28th so that it exists in every month.
For families transferring from a prepaid arrangement, your first charge is scheduled for the day after your prepaid period ends. That date is confirmed with you in writing before enrollment.
Receipts
You receive an emailed receipt for every charge. Each receipt contains a link to manage or cancel your enrollment. A valid email address is required in order to enroll.
Card information
Payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. MGL Math Center does not see, handle, or store your full card number. You are responsible for keeping a valid card on file. If your card expires, your card issuer may automatically supply updated details to Stripe.
Section 7
Failed and declined payments
If a charge is declined, Stripe will automatically retry the payment over the following days and will email you each time an attempt fails. You can correct the problem yourself using the link in that email.
What happens while a payment is unresolved
- Your child continues attending class for [10] days from the first failed attempt.
- After [10] days with the balance still unpaid, attendance pauses until payment is resolved. Classes missed during this pause are not eligible for makeup classes and are not credited.
- After [21] days with the balance still unpaid, the enrollment is cancelled and the seat is released to another family.
A seat released for non-payment is not held. Re-enrollment afterward is subject to availability at that time, and the original day and time may no longer be open.
We do not charge a late fee.
Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us first. We will look at it and correct any error. Filing a chargeback with your bank on a charge for instruction already delivered may result in enrollment being ended.
Section 8
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time, for any reason. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and no requirement to give a reason.
How to cancel
- Use the cancellation link in any receipt email, or
- Email info@mgltutor.com from the address on your account, or
- Tell us in person at the Center and we will process it for you
We confirm every cancellation by email. If you do not receive a confirmation within one business day, the cancellation did not go through and you should contact us.
When cancellation takes effect
Cancellation ends future charges. It takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, and your child continues attending through that date.
Please note
To avoid the next month’s charge, cancel before your billing date. Cancelling on your billing date does not reverse a charge that has already been made that day.
Cancellation by us
We may end an enrollment for repeated non-payment, for conduct as described in Section 17, or if we can no longer provide a suitable class. Where we end an enrollment for any reason other than non-payment or conduct, we refund the unused portion of the current month.
Section 9
Refunds
Tuition already charged is not refunded and is not prorated, with the limited exceptions stated in Sections 8 and 12.
Specifically, tuition is not refunded or credited for:
- Classes the student does not attend, for any reason
- Partial months following a cancellation
- Scheduled closures shown on the program calendar
- Makeup classes that were offered but not used
If we make a billing error, we correct it in full. Contact us and we will fix it.
Section 10
Program calendar and closures
The program year runs from Last Week of August to End of Second Week of August. The full calendar is published at the Center and provided to every family.
Scheduled closures for this program year:
- 3rd Week of August ( 8/16/2026- 08/23/2026 this year)
- Thanksgiving and Black Friday ( 11/26 – 11/27/2026 this year )
- Xmas Eve until New Years ( 12/23/26 – 01/02/2027 )
- July 4th , Naadam , Lunar new year
Scheduled closures are already built into monthly tuition. No makeup class or credit is provided for a scheduled closure, because no class was owed on that date.
Weather and emergency closures
We may close for severe weather, utility failure, or other conditions that make the Center unsafe. We announce closures by text message and email by [3:00 PM] on the day of the closure whenever possible. Unscheduled closures are treated under Section 12.
Section 11
Absences and makeup classes
The seat and the instructor were reserved for your child. Missed classes are not refunded, not credited, and not carried forward into the following month.
When your child misses a class, you have two options.
Catch-Up Packet
We send the worksheets the class covered that day, together with a short written explanation of the lesson. This is available every time your child misses a class, with no limit and no notice required. Packets are sent within [two business days] of the missed class.
Makeup class
One makeup class per calendar month, subject to all of the following:
- You notify us at least 24 hours before the class your child will miss
- An open seat exists in another class at your child’s level
- The makeup is taken within the same calendar month as the missed class
Because classes hold only six students, open seats are limited and a makeup cannot be guaranteed. Additional rules:
- Unused makeup classes do not accumulate and do not carry into the next month
- Makeup classes have no cash value and cannot be converted into a credit or refund
- Makeup classes cannot be transferred to a sibling or another student
- A student who misses without at least 24 hours notice is not eligible for a makeup for that absence, but the Catch-Up Packet is still provided
Extended absences
If your child will be away for more than [three] consecutive weeks, contact us. We cannot hold a seat without tuition during the school year, but we will discuss the options with you.
Section 12
Classes cancelled by the Center
If we cancel a class for any reason other than a scheduled closure, we will provide one of the following, at your choice where practical:
- A makeup class at another time
- A replacement class added to the calendar
Makeup classes provided because we cancelled do not count toward your one makeup per month under Section 11.
When we fail to deliver, we make it right.
Section 13
Pausing enrollment
Summer
Enrollment may be paused during the summer with at least two weeks written notice. While paused, no tuition is charged.
Important
A summer pause does not reserve a specific day and time for the following program year. To hold a particular slot, confirm your fall schedule with us by second week of August. Otherwise your child is placed in the best available seat when you return.
During the school year
We do not pause enrollment during the school year. A paused seat is a seat we cannot teach and cannot offer to another family. If you want your child’s seat held during the school year, tuition continues.
Section 14
Changing schedule, level, or frequency
Requests to change a class day or time should be made in writing and are subject to available seats. We will do our best, but a specific slot cannot be promised.
Changing between one and two classes per week changes your monthly tuition. The new amount takes effect on your next billing date. We do not prorate mid-month changes, and a change requested after your billing date takes effect the following month.
Your billing date itself does not change when you change frequency, level, or schedule.
Section 15
Arrival, pickup, and supervision
Center hours during school year are Monday through Friday, [4:00 PM to 8:00 PM], and Saturday, [11:00 AM to 4:00 PM].
- Students may arrive up to [10] minutes before their class begins
- Students are supervised only during their scheduled class time and the few minutes on either side of it
- A student arriving late joins the class in progress. Class does not run past its scheduled end time
- Students must be picked up promptly at the end of class
Late pickup
If a student has not been picked up [30] minutes after closing and we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, we are required to contact local authorities.
Authorized pickup
Tell us in writing who is permitted to pick up your child. We will not release a student to an adult who is not on that list without speaking to you first.
Section 16
Health and illness
Please keep your child home if they have had a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours, or have any contagious condition.
If a student becomes ill at the Center, we will call you and ask you to collect them. Absence due to illness follows the normal absence rules in Section 11.
Tell us in writing about any allergy, medical condition, or accommodation we should know about. Our staff do not administer medication.
In a medical emergency we will call 911 first and contact you immediately afterward. You are responsible for any resulting medical costs.
Section 17
Student conduct
Our classes depend on students being able to concentrate. We ask every student to:
- Treat instructors and other students with respect
- Work quietly and allow others to work
- Keep phones and personal devices put away during class
- Take care of Center property and materials
When a student repeatedly disrupts a class, we handle it in this order: a conversation with the student, then a conversation with you, then a temporary removal from class, and finally ending the enrollment.
If we end an enrollment for conduct, we refund the unused portion of the current month. We may remove a student immediately, without the steps above, for behavior that endangers another person.
The Center is not responsible for personal belongings that are lost or damaged.
Section 18
Photography and media
We sometimes photograph or film classes for teaching materials, our website, and social media.
Consent is required
We do not publish any image or video of your child unless you have given written permission. Permission is requested separately at enrollment, on its own form, and is never a condition of enrolling.
Where permission is given, we do not publish a student’s full name, school, or any other identifying detail alongside their image. You may withdraw permission at any time by emailing us, and we will remove the material from anything we control going forward.
Parents and visitors may not photograph or film other people’s children at the Center.
Section 19
Communication and contact information
A valid email address is required for enrollment. Receipts, failed payment notices, cancellation confirmations, and monthly progress reports are all sent by email.
You are responsible for keeping your email address, phone number, and emergency contact current. Tell us as soon as any of them changes.
- Email is our record channel and is used for anything involving billing or enrollment
- Text and phone are used for anything urgent, including closures and pickup
We reply to messages within one business day. You consent to receiving these communications electronically, and to electronic records and signatures having the same effect as paper ones.
Section 20
Our teaching approach and outcomes
We let students work through hard problems themselves rather than handing them the answer. A student sitting with a difficult problem for several minutes is not a student being neglected. That is the moment the learning happens, and stepping in too early takes it away from them.
This means your child will sometimes come home frustrated, and will sometimes say we did not help. What they are building is the ability to stay with a problem they do not immediately know how to solve.
We ask families to:
- Bring your child on time, and tell us in advance when they will miss
- Make sure homework is finished before the next class
- Read the monthly report
- Attend the goals meeting and the January check-in
- Tell us early when something is wrong
On outcomes. We commit to teaching your child well, tracking their progress honestly, and telling you the truth about what we see. We do not guarantee any particular grade, test score, class placement, or admission result. Learning depends on attendance, effort, and time, and those are not entirely within our control.
Section 21
Changes to tuition and to these terms
We may update these policies. When we make a change that materially affects you, we will give you at least [30] days notice by email before it takes effect.
We may change tuition. Any tuition increase is announced at least [30] days before the billing date on which it first applies, so you always have a full billing cycle to decide whether to continue.
Continuing enrollment after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged the new amount.
The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
Section 22
Privacy and student records
We collect only what we need in order to teach your child and run the business: contact details, the student’s grade and school, assessment results, attendance, skill progress, and billing records.
- Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Student progress data is used to teach, to place students, and to write your monthly report.
- We do not sell your information and we do not share it with anyone outside the Center, except service providers who help us operate, such as our payment processor and email system.
- We will not discuss your child’s records with anyone other than a parent or guardian on the account.
You may ask for a copy of your child’s records at any time, and you may ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
Section 23
General terms
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
Resolving problems
If something goes wrong, contact us first. Most problems are solved in one conversation, and we would rather fix it than argue about it.
Limitation
Except where the law does not allow it, our total liability to you for any claim relating to this agreement is limited to the tuition you paid in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in this agreement limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Severability and entire agreement
If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. This page, together with the enrollment form and the published program calendar, is the entire agreement between us and replaces any earlier arrangement, verbal or written.
Assignment
You may not transfer your enrollment to another family. Enrollment is specific to the student named at signup.
Questions
If anything on this page is unclear, ask us. If it is easier to ask in Mongolian, please do.
